B. VISION

Hasanuddin University’s vision: A center of excellence in human development, science, technology, arts, and culture based on the Indonesian maritime continent.

The vision of the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University: A leading institution in engineering for global sustainability with the spirit of maritime culture.

The vision of the Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University: A center for sustainable and excellent environmental engineering education in a global maritime continent-based science-technology network.

C. MISSION

Hasanuddin University mission:

  1. Provide a quality learning environment to develop innovative and proactive learning capacities;
  2. Preserving, developing, discovering, and creating science, technology, arts, and culture; and
  3. Implementing and disseminating maritime-based science, technology, arts, and culture and for the benefit of the Indonesian maritime continent.

The mission of the Hasanuddin University Faculty of Engineering:

  1. Developing comprehensive education and community service and research-oriented engineering in line with the spirit of a maritime culture;
  2. To produce engineering graduates who are knowledgeable and able to think critically, master advanced technology, and can work creatively and innovatively;
  3. Build a center of excellence in engineering through international partnerships for sustainable development; and
  4. Disseminating appropriate technology to improve the quality of life and to preserve natural resources.

The mission of the Environmental Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University:

  1. Carrying out environmental engineering education in a sustainable manner to support people’s lives.
  2. Organizing innovative research activities in increasing knowledge and technology based on research and science-technology based on the maritime continent.
  3. Organizing pro-active community service activities for strategic cooperation with the government, educational institutions, and the industrial world at the local, regional, national, and international levels.

D. INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONALS

  1. Contribute to society in designing engineering builds in the field of environmental engineering to solve environmental problems locally and globally (Professional Accomplishment).
  2. Careers and manage jobs in the field of environmental engineering or other fields armed with professional ethics and insight into sustainable development (General / Social Accomplishment).
  3. Have the basic technical knowledge and skills to observe, identify, and understand environmental problems for continuing higher education (Academic Accomplishment).

E. GRADUATE LEARNING OUTCOMES

  1. Able to identify, formulate, and solve problems in environmental engineering by applying the principles of engineering, science, and mathematics (fundamental knowledge / scientific expertise).
  2. Able to apply engineering designs to produce solutions that meet needs with consideration of public health, safety, welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors (engineering design abilities & problem-solving)
  3. Able to communicate effectively (communication skills)
  4. Understand ethical and professional responsibilities that consider the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental, and social context (ethical and professional responsibility & understanding the impact of engineering solutions / professional and ethical responsibility & understanding of engineering impact)
  5. Having a leadership spirit and able to work in multidisciplinary teams (leadership and teamwork/leadership and teamwork)
  6. Able to design and conduct experiments, as well as analyze and interpret data (the ability to do experimental skills)

F. DEGREE

Students who complete their studies will be awarded a Bachelor of Engineering (ST) degree

G. CURRICULUM

The Undergraduate Program allocates courses in seven / eight semesters.
